Can be added to soups or stews. Can be sprinkled over food before grilling. It can be brewed to make a drink traditionally used to help relieve coughs. To make this soak 25gm in cold water for 15 minutes, then strain and add to a pint of boiling water, with half a lemon, simmer for 15 minutes, strain, cool, allow to cool. You can add honey, sugar or lemon to your own taste. It can be stored in the fridge in a sealed container for up to one week. Wash carrageen for all dishes before use.

A great substitute for gelatine in desserts and as a soup thickening ingredient. Carrageen is traditionally drunk hot, with honey and lemon, to relieve sore throats and coughs during the winter.
